Admission Requirements

General Entrance Requirements

Programme Requirements on the Elective Subjects

Programme Minimum Grade
BSc (Hons) in Computer Science
  • Any HKDSE elective subjects, including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2).
  • For students who have attained a 5* or above in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or Mathematics in HKDSE, they will be guaranteed for admission to BSc (Hons) in Computer Science in Year 2.
BSc (Hons) in Business Computing and Data Analytics
  • One of the elective subjects must be any Category A subjects (excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2)).
  • The other elective subject can be any of the following subjects:
    1. Category A subjects (including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2)).
    2. Category B subjects (Applied Learning) with “Attained with Distinction (I)” or above.
    3. Category C subjects (Other Language) at Grade C or above.
BBA (Hons) Information Systems and Business Intelligence Concentration
  • One of the elective subjects must be Category A subjects (excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2)). Another elective subject can be all Category A subjects (including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2)).
  • Individual programmes may consider Category B subjects (Applied Learning) with “Attained with Distinction (I)” or above and/or Category C subjects (Other Languages) at Grade C or above for fulfilment of the second elective subject requirement.
  • Category B subjects under the study area of “Applied Learning Chinese” are recognised as an alternative Chinese language qualification for non-Chinese speaking students. These subjects are not for fulfilment of the second elective subject requirement.
  • JUPAS Band A applicants who fail to meet the general entrance requirements by one level in any one of the HKDSE subjects, but obtain a total of two * s (either one subject with 5** or 2 subjects with 5*) or above in any subject(s) may also be considered for admission.

BSc (Hons) in Business Computing and Data Analytics

All students are required to either go on international exchange, or attend internship. Students are able to gain work experience in Fintech and data analytics through internship opportunities.

 

BBA (Hons) Information Systems and Business Intelligence Concentration

The local and overseas internship opportunities offered by the University and the School of Business give students hands-on work experiences in various fields. Business-related internship can enhance students' competitiveness in employment and future advancement. Over 60% of BBA students have participated in 1 to 3 local / overseas internship programmes during their 4-year university life. ISBI students can also enroll in ISEM 3026 ISEM Internship to complete a work assignment in relevant industries under the guidance of both faculty and workplace supervisors; and earn three credit units at the same time.

The Programme also provides start-up support for potential entrepreneurs and a good foundation for pursuit of further advanced studies.

Near 100% students received full-time employment offers upon graduation. Graduates of BBA (Hons) Information Systems and Business Intelligence Concentration will not only understand the new way of doing business in various domains of the financial industry, but also other technical mechanisms behind the new business models. Furthermore, the courses will discuss the policy and regulatory implications of the disruptive technology and new business model.
