Government Communication Network (GCN)

The Government Communication Network (GCN) is a common service for the exchange of electronic mails among the Government bureaux and departments (B/Ds). In addition to electronic mail communication within the Government, GCN is connected to the Internet Mail Exchange (IMX) service such that Government B/Ds can also communicate with the public through electronic mail over the Internet.

Besides mail exchange service, GCN also provides a directory consolidating information of GCN users as submitted by B/Ds to facilitate cross-B/D mail communications among them.
