Enhancing Data Governance

Data governance encompasses multiple core elements, including the integration, application, opening up, and sharing of data; data security; infrastructure; industry planning; as well as alignment with various standards and regulatory frameworks. The Government has been adopting a multi-pronged strategy, covering policies, laws and guidelines, and supporting facilities, etc., to establish a data governance system tailored to Hong Kong’s unique circumstances, as shown in the diagram below.
