Job Description

  • Drive the deployment of customer workloads into Azure and increase their consumption of the platform by providing deployment guidance, supporting development of the customers’ cloud adoption model, and providing appropriate recommendations to overcome blockers.
  • Establish deep relationships with key ITDMs and BDMs, who drive long-term cloud adoption within their company. Identify, validate and grow opportunities to accelerate consumption in next-gen high potential customer accounts, in partnership with the sales team, by driving solution architecture for both Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.
  • Accelerate consumption in next-gen high potential customer accounts by providing deep technical expertise and support in one out of the following four areas of specialisation: Data centre Transformation, Custom Applications, Media Services, Security, Compliance and Privacy.
  • Lead deployment of projects, creation of collateral, and training of sellers and partners in your area of specialisation. 
  • Keep up to date with market trends and competitive insights.
  • Coach other technical sellers to become certified in required Azure technical certifications.

Recommended Qualifications and Experience

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives and growing cloud consumption share in large or highly strategic accounts.
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • 5+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects).
  • 5+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience in “migrating” on premise workloads to the cloud.
  • Deep technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Software design or development, Application Design, Systems Operations / Management, Database architecture, Virtualisation, IP Networking, Storage, IT Security, Linux.
  • Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.
  • Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture position within a software and/or services company such as SalesForce, Amazon, VMware, Google, IBM, Avanade, T-Systems, Wipro, CSC, HP, Infosys, ServiceNow, Dell, TCS, Rackspace, Softlayer.

Recommended Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced. 5+ years’ experience selling business solutions to large/global enterprise customers with a focus on data platform technologies.
  • Account Management. Effective territory/account management: planning, opportunity qualification and creation, stakeholder and executive communication, needs analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, pipeline management, large dollar licensing and deal negotiation.
  • Executive Presence. Experience and expertise selling to senior business decision makers by aligning & reinforcing the value of the solution to the customer’s overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities and decision criteria.
  • Problem Solver. Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies.
  • Collaborative. Orchestrate and influence virtual teams to pursue sales opportunities and lead v-teams through influence.
  • Azure Platform. Understanding of Microsoft server products and/or complementing solutions. The position requires the ability to articulate and present the business value of Microsoft's solutions and have a firm understanding of Microsoft's strategies and products relative to major Microsoft competitors.
  • Leadership. Experience leading large cloud deals especially those involving Data Platform modernisation and migration, AI and related.
  • Competitive Landscape. Knowledge of enterprise software solutions and platform competitor landscape.
  • Partners. Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred, or equivalent experience.

Recommended Qualifications and Experience

  • Deep technical or architectural knowledge of at least 2 of the following areas:
  • Database administration (preferably with SQL, including Azure SQL) – performance tuning, trouble-shooting, high availability / disaster recovery, security.
  • Database development (preferably with SQL, including Azure SQL) – designing and building database solutions (tables / stored procedures / forms / queries / etc.).
  • Knowledge of In-Memory Database OLTP.
  • Basic understanding on the Application Integration with OLTP Database using .NET or Java.
  • Experience in supporting or developing Mission Critical and Low Latency Transactional systems.
  • Business intelligence – combining knowledge of SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/Power BI technologies with a deep understanding of data structure / data models to design, develop, and tune BI solutions and reports.
  • Advanced data analytics – designing and building solutions using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, HD Insights, SQL DWH, stream analytics, machine learning, R server.
  • B.Sc./B.A. or equivalent work experience combined with a relevant industry experience in a consulting role.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work with different cultures and customers.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of different audiences and strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to match technical solutions with customer business requirements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate technical communities.
  • Ability to effectively recognise and adapt to change.
  • Ability to quickly grasp customers’ business challenges and drive positive change.

Recommended Qualifications and Experience

  • 15+ years of professional experience, including technical and/or business consulting.
  • Broad understanding of the technology industry, including current and emerging Digital Solutions, and experience managing technology enabled business change within one or more vertical industries (i.e., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Public Sector).
  • Executive presence, including ability to hold CXO level discussions, and executive-level, exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to generate trust, build alliances, and orchestrate interdisciplinary teams to the benefit of customers.
  • Situational awareness to adapt and solve challenges from a business and technology perspective.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic operational execution and delivery, including the coordination of relevant resources.
