Virtual Customs Ambassador – XiaoHui

Business Facilitation Digital Government

In a move to strengthen the way the public interacts with customs services and to enhance the service standard by optimising the use of innovation technology, Hong Kong Customs has introduced the Virtual Customs Ambassador, XiaoHui, under the Smart Customs Blueprint.

XiaoHui is in service at Hong Kong International Airport, the Heung Yuen Wai Control Point, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port and the West Kowloon Station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, as well as on the Customs Homepage. Combined with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, natural language processing and machine learning, XiaoHui can handle general enquiries in relation to Customs work in real time, and provide the public with information on control points. XiaoHui can answer enquiries on passenger clearance, cargo clearance, trade facilitation, intellectual property rights protection, consumer protection, trade controls, anti-money laundering, etc.

As the Hong Kong Government continues to champion the city's position as a global business hub, the introduction of XiaoHui is a testament to Hong Kong Customs’ commitment to embracing digital innovation and providing a seamless, efficient, and customer-centric experience.
