Electronic School Registration Certificate

Business Facilitation Digital Government

Recognizing the need for greater efficiency and convenience, the Education Bureau (EDB) has adopted digital signature and ‘e-Proof’ in electronic Certificates of Registration and Certificates of Provisional Registration, to replace the manually signed or stamped paper certificates. This approach has brought about significant benefits to the education sector, streamlining operations and empowering school administrators.

One of the standout features of the new electronic certificates is the elimination of the need for in-person visits to the EDB's office for collection. Upon approval of a school's registration application, the school supervisor now instantly receives the electronic certificate by email, allowing for convenient download and printing. This seamless process saves valuable time and resources, enabling school leaders to focus on their core mission of providing quality education.

Furthermore, with their recognised legal status, the electronic certificates ensure the integrity and authenticity of the registration documentation. The inclusion of a QR code on each certificate further enhances transparency, as the public can easily verify the validity of the certificates through the e-Proof website.

Beyond the immediate benefits to schools, the EDB's initiative also aligns with the Hong Kong government's overarching goal of developing a Smart Government. This alignment not only enhances the overall user experience but also contributes to the larger push towards a more digitally empowered and sustainable business environment.
